A considered next step
Choose where to begin.
You do not need to decide every stage at once. Use these three questions to frame the next step.
01
Where is the book now?
An idea may need writing support. A draft may need editorial attention. Prepared text may be ready for design and publication planning.
02
What needs attention first?
Identify the priority: the writing, the presentation, the publishing route or how to reach readers.
03
What can you prepare?
Note your intended readers, the format you have in mind and the questions you want to discuss. These details help shape the brief.
Before you choose
A few useful distinctions.
Do I need all eleven services?
A project can focus on one area or combine support across several stages. Start with the manuscript’s needs and confirm the specific scope before work begins.
How do editing and proofreading differ?
Editing considers the draft’s structure, flow, language and consistency. Proofreading checks prepared text for remaining spelling, punctuation and typographical errors. The draft stage helps identify the appropriate starting point.
Is print formatting the same as ebook formatting?
They address different reading formats. Print formatting works with a fixed page layout. Ebook formatting considers digital text layout and navigation. Decide which editions you want to prepare before defining the design brief.
What if I am unsure which service I need?
The Free Publishing Consultation page is the starting route for authors developing an idea or clarifying their goals. If you have a draft ready to share, the Submit Your Manuscript page explains that separate route. Both request areas remain inactive staging previews.
