03

Book information

What needs review?

A book, considered in context.

An original staging graphic, not an Amazon interface, partner mark or client publication.

The service

A focused discussion around one publishing route.

KDP publishing support considers how a particular book edition relates to the platform’s current requirements. The starting point is the manuscript, the intended format and the information that will describe the book.

Preparation can involve identifying what is settled, what still needs work and which publication decisions need discussion. The exact scope must be agreed for the project; account activity, uploads and submission are not assumed inclusions.

When to begin

Start with a clear version of the book.

You can consider a KDP route before every detail is final. A stable text and a defined edition make it easier to distinguish publication preparation from earlier writing and design work.

A settled manuscript

Identify the text intended for publication and any editorial decisions still open.

An intended edition

Clarify whether the discussion concerns a print edition, an ebook or separately prepared editions.

A view of the materials

Note the state of the cover, interior or ebook files, and the book details you already have.

Preparation areas

Bring the materials and information into alignment.

These are planning topics for a possible brief. They do not represent a fixed package, included deliverables or a file-acceptance promise.

01 / MANUSCRIPT

Settled text

Review the chapter order, wording and supporting material that belong to the chosen edition.

02 / PRESENTATION

Cover and edition files

Consider the cover together with the print interior or digital reading file. Design and formatting remain separate services.

03 / DESCRIPTION

Book information

Gather the title, author name and description, and identify other details that need checking for the selected route.

04 / CONTEXT

Edition decisions

Keep the intended version, format and publication choices consistent across the materials and book information.

An essential distinction

Preparation is separate from Amazon’s decision.

A prepared edition and a platform-approved title are different things. KDP reviews submitted books against its formatting and content guidelines; preparation support cannot promise the outcome.

THE PREPARATION

Materials and choices

Identify the edition, review its information and consider the current requirements before submission is contemplated.

THE PLATFORM REVIEW

Amazon’s assessment

Acceptance, listing and publication depend on the platform’s review and conditions. No approval, timing or availability is guaranteed here.

The author’s role

Stay involved in the book’s information and choices.

Your knowledge of the work helps connect its presentation with its purpose. Any formal review or approval stages would be defined in an agreed scope.

01

Check the book details

Read the title, author name, description and other proposed information for accuracy and fit.

02

Review the edition

Confirm which text, cover and print or digital materials are under discussion, and raise any remaining questions.

03

Clarify account activity

Discuss the account position, responsibilities and proposed actions before any access or activity is authorised.

Related, separately scoped support

The edition and the platform define different needs.

Book Publishing, Ebook Publishing and Amazon KDP Publishing are distinct service discussions. Choosing one does not automatically include the others, or editing, cover design, formatting, ISBN services or marketing.

A SPECIFIC PLATFORM CONTEXT

Amazon KDP Publishing

Focuses on preparation questions and publication choices for the KDP route, subject to the platform’s own requirements.

THE BOOK EDITION

Book Publishing

Considers the prepared book and its intended publication path without assuming that KDP is the route.

THE DIGITAL EDITION

Ebook Publishing

Considers the digital edition and its selected path without assuming a particular publishing platform.

Before defining the scope

Make the account and route questions explicit.

Account arrangements and publication choices need their own discussion. This page does not promise account creation, transfer, ownership, control or platform access.

THE STARTING POSITION

What already exists?

Note whether there is an existing account or edition, and which account-related questions are unresolved.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

What would be authorised?

Define any proposed activity and its boundaries separately. Ongoing account management is not assumed.

THE CHOSEN ROUTE

What needs checking?

Review the current requirements for the intended edition. Availability, territories and exact specifications require separate confirmation.

Before you begin

Questions about the KDP route.

Can you guarantee Amazon will approve or list my book?

No. Amazon applies its own review and publication conditions. Preparation support does not guarantee acceptance, listing, publication, ranking, visibility or sales.

Does KDP support include editing, cover design or formatting?

These are separate services. A project may need more than one type of support, but each inclusion must be defined and agreed. ISBN services and marketing are not automatic inclusions either.

Does this include creating or managing an author account?

Account work is not an automatic inclusion. The current account position, any authorised activity and the specific responsibilities must be clarified before such work is considered.

Is this the same as Book Publishing or Ebook Publishing?

This service focuses on the Amazon KDP platform context. Book Publishing and Ebook Publishing concern their respective editions and intended routes more generally. One service does not automatically provide the others.
